About Us

Newdigate Community Centre is a registered charity which comprises the following buildings, areas, tenant clubs and facilities:

The Brocus Memorial Field

Shortly after the last war the meadow was put up for sale. Residents of the Parish felt that the acquisition of the field to be kept as an open space was essential and a small committee was formed to arrange its purchase at auction. The amount required was £1,250 and bridging loan was obtained from a local resident until the parish could collect it. The field was to be a Memorial to all those who had taken part in the two World Wars. The Village set to work and arranged three annual Gymkhanas and together with other contributions soon raised the required amount and so the Brocus Memorial Field belongs to the Village for all time.

Today the Brocus is managed by the Trustees of the Newdigate Community Centre on behalf of the residents of Newdigate.

Playground

Newdigate Playground is nestled in the South West corner of the Brocus. It can be easily accessed from the Community Centre car park and it offers a valuable play facility within our village for children up to and around 10 years of age.
